Family and friends gathered here on Saturday, July 18th, to wish Nic and Alison the best in their new life in New Haven, Connecticut, where Nic was beginning a two-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Yale University. They left with a 26 foot truck the following Tuesday, and are now happily ensconced in their new home.

I don’t know why I googled you this afternoon, but I did. So glad to hear you’ve happily retired, but so sad to learn of Monika’s death. Happy you have found a new chapter of life with Holly and your blended families. I am the new pastor of Cape May United Methodist Church and love living in the mixed culture of tourism, farms and wineries. While serving in Wyckoff, NJ, I met Brian Hall, a former student of yours and we remain friends on FB. So grateful to have learned from you and find it outstanidng that you found a life away from the crushing race of NJ. I just turned 60 and plan to retire in 5-6 years. I have always played the violin, but have taken time to learn the cello so that there is continued joy in my life. May you continue to experience a blessed and fruitful life. Peace, Jeanette
Such a nice surprise to hear from you, Jeanette. And Pastor Jeanette to boot! Nice to know that you’ve been in touch with Brian Hall and that you are continuing your musical interests. I hope you’ll enjoy retirement as much as I have when you get to that stage of life. It has come with its challenges and tragedies, but my life, to use your words, has indeed been “blessed and fruitful.”
